Why I Started Coaching

I obtained my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in psychology but shortly after beginning my collegiate career, I realized that I did not want to become a therapist. I decided to take the route of "psychology in the workplace" after Grad school, instead of getting licensed as a therapist, and pursuing a career in Human Resources. Most people hear Human Resources and automatically think avoid avoid avoid! But that's a common misconception. There are many facets to HR and the not-so-fun part (discipline & termination) is only one very small nuance to the field and typically is not ultimately decided by HR but by the leaders who run the company. Human Resources is there to consult and recommend, to guide leaders to hold you and everyone else accountable, but there's also a specific aspect of HR solely dedicated to your growth and development as an employee and an individual.

After 10 years in my career in Human Resources, I decided I wanted to take things a step further outside of the corporate world, where there are so many limitations, and into personal lives to make a true and even more meaningful difference. I've always had a passion for helping people learn and develop new skills or introducing people to and helping them understand new concepts. I love seeing the transformation that having someone else truly in their corner has on people's success. Someone telling them, "Yes you can!"  versus "No you can't."

I have this very dear friend who was going through a tough time a while back, he called me upset. I could tell in his voice that he had dang near hit rock bottom and he had called my best friend and me on 3-way because he truly needed our support. That was the moment I realized the passion that I feel for helping people remember and realize what they are capable of doing; The changes they are capable of making in their lives that will result in a positive outcome.

In addition to being passionate about accountability, and helping people realize their goals, I've lived life. I've learned many lessons about dating and relationships through trial and error. We've all said and done things that we look back on now and think, 'Yeah it definitely wasn't worth all of that' but we grow from it, shaping who we are and who we want to become. Ultimately, we are in control of what we will and won't accept and how we will and will not allow someone to treat us. Once I cracked the code & figured out the key to attracting & maintaining a successful relationship, I took training and became certified as both a Dating Coach and an Accountability Coach and I can't wait to share what I've learned with you!
